SUSAN LOEGERING – HYDRAULIC HOLLOW FORMS

From: $269.19

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

In this class, we will explore using a hydraulic press to add dimension and interest to hollow form rings or pendants. Picking from a selection of contemporary and antique impression dies, we learn how to safely press stampings on both an electric and manual hydraulic press. Using those stampings, we will create beautiful hollow forms. Hollow means there is space inside which makes the piece lighter and less expensive to create than if it was solid. You will leave with one stamping that will be used to make your choice of a ring or pendant.
Whether you’re just getting started in metal smithing, or you’ve been dabbling for years, you’ll leave this class with the skills and ideas necessary to take your jewelry designs to the next level and learn how to create distinctive three-dimensional jewelry.

PREREQUISITE: Advanced Beginner – basic metal smithing with the ability to solder independently
