Students create their own artisan, sterling silver hoops using various techniques such as soldering, texturing, sanding, etc.

  • Measuring and cutting sterling silver sheet and wire

  • Preparing proper joints for soldering
  • Solder a basic butt joint
  • Filing, sanding and polishing
  • Chemically Oxidizing non-ferrous metals
  • Using a flex shaft rotary tool

Prerequisite: NONE.

This is a fun beginner class that will take you through the steps of making your own set of artisan, sterling silver earrings. You will learn how to use various metalsmithing tools to cut, and create texture. You will then learn the basics of soldering. After soldering you will learn how to make your piece shine using various tools for sanding, polishing and adding patina. After completing all of the steps, you will have a beautiful set of earrings to take home and show off.

  • Studio Rules: Closed-toe shoes are required. Do not wear loose clothing that could get caught in rotary tools. Wear long hair tied back.

Multiplicity Class/Workshop Cancellation Policy Students who call to cancel at least 72 hours prior to the start date of a paid class/workshop will receive a full refund in the original form of payment. Students who call to cancel between 25 hours and 71 hours prior to the start date of a paid class/workshop will get a studio/store credit in the form of a Multiplicity gift certificate. Cancellations within the 24 hours prior to the start date of any paid class/workshop will not be refunded.
