Big and Bold Abstract Painting with Jodi Ohl

From: $609.13

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Abstract painting can be joyful, playful, energetic and absolutely-FUN! The flipside is that it can also be frustrating. Many artists find it hard to move from background to the final composition, or even just how to get started. If you struggle at all in any of these areas or are looking to stretch your wings in a way that you will find yourself growing as an abstract artist, this class will speed up that journey in many ways.

Join abstract artist and author of “Abstracts in Acrylic and Ink”, Jodi Ohl for this fun filled and in-depth workshop!

During this course students will:
• Study and apply core elements of design
• Practice and create samples using basic composition structures commonly used in abstract painting
• Work on both paper and a large canvas for their studies and final project
• Learn how to use a variety of painter’s tools in both conventional and un-conventional ways
• Learn how and when to use a variety of gel mediums in their work to create textural effects and either vibrant or subtle color shifts
• Will learn to identify areas to edit or enhance and tools to do both
• How to evaluate and finalize details in their final project using strategies exemplified throughout the course.

Projects: Work and samples on paper & one large painting (24 x30 or 30×30) *
* Multiplicity can ship your canvas home! Shipping prices, depending on the size of canvas chosen, will be available at the beginning of the workshop.

PREREQUISITE: Beginner to Advanced; some acrylic painting knowledge helpful
