ANDI TERRY – FINE GRANULATION BASICS

From: $294.70

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Learn how to make and apply fine granules to fine silver in this short, jam-packed course! Students will have a choice of two leaf projects; a pair of earrings or a pendant, which they will be texturing at the beginning of class. After the texturing is done, we’ll learn how to make granules from 26-gauge wire and fuse them onto the leaves with powdered solder. We will go over how to use granulation to make neat, geometric patterns, or organic patterns that follow the flow of the piece. This technique is easy to learn and is an elegant way to add texture to your pieces! Students may use the trinket kilns to add gold to their projects at the end if they wish to do so.

PREREQUISITE: Basic metalsmithing techniques necessary .
